Not really.  There are tons of other high quality machetes in the $10-$30 range.

Heh I saw one of those for the $3.50 or whatever last time, almost grabbed it for the hell of it, but the steel looked pretty pathetic and given the cost I just assumed it would sit in my garage for years and years and never get used... I passed.

Just like the cheap ones in camping section of walmart soft steel that will not hold edge or survive I rfeturned one I got for 8 dollars at walmart limbs were denting the edge in the machette cheap shit. there are plenty of qaulity mchetes in the surplus market.

I have that machete minus the saw-back. I use it regularly for brush clearing. The steel is very poor and requires frequent sharpening.  Not a big deal since I have a knife-makers belt grinder in the garage and just give it a swipe every time I use it. Otherwise it would be a PITA.
