I saw in another thread someone had modified theirs. Anybody else try that? Used it for a project knife or replaced the grip? Seems like good raw material for a project.

To be more specific, the 18" milspec Ontario made out of 1095. Seems like somebody would have gotten creative with them around here, not sure why it would have to be tacticool.

I did the one in the other thread.
Nothing tacticool just function I work outdoors and use it at least once a week. ( para cord was used in the handle due to a lack of anything else to use)
The Ontario just happens to be the Army issue machete and its also happens to be one of the very best blades to modify.
Take a look at the Bark river machetes that they did from the Ontario blanks

Anyway nothing complicated about doing one other than not putting to much heat to the blade when cutting it down.
