| I'm looking for a nice, American made, neck knife with durable sheath. It must be lightweight and thin. I'm looking at the KaBar BK 14 Eskabar but I'm not sure how durable the sheath is. I want to make sure it fits tight so it don't fall down while hiking. I'm also looking at the Esee Izula but I'm not sure its worth the extra $30. Does anyone have the Eskabar or any other slim neck knife you can comment on? Thanks. |

I'm also looking at the Esee Izula but I'm not sure its worth the extra $30. If you look around for sales you can pick up an Izula w/basic sheath for $40 - $45. I own two, and it's a great knife (IMO). I carry one of them on a neck lanyard (in its stock sheath) regularly while fishing. It's tough, holds a great edge, and it sharpens up quick & easy. I can't recommend it highly enough. Like I said, shop around and check out some of the knife forums, you'll find one at a good price. John |

Izula or the new penis fish knife from ESEE if you want quality American made. |

I have 2 BK14's and they have been awesome knives. Picked them up on ebay for $33 each shipped. They are a little larger than i like to carry around my neck though.
My prefered neck knife is the Scrap Yard Scrapivore, but it will run you $60 with a sheath and shipping. |

Do people actually put "neck knives" around their neck? I tried it once and hated having it flop around and smack me in the chest every time I took a step It's not all that bad if your shirt is snug. If my shirt is baggy it does flop around quite a bit. Raising it up will help as well. |

I dont find it uncomfortable at all once i got use to it. I find neck carry especially usefull when wearing my favorite Columbia shorts that have built in belts which makes belt carry impossible. |

I hate wearing anything around my neck. I won't do it if I can help it. The only exception is my damned badge at work, which I hate, but will lose if I clip it to my belt or something. I have seen knives that attach to the back of badges and can be carried any number of ways. |
