Fixed blade.

I recommended a folder.

For $150-$200, I'd get either a Fallkniven S1 or A1.  Both are very heavy duty knives and are stainless steel, so rust won't be an issue.

A lot of carbon steel knives are great, but will require maintenance; which may not be ideal in a long term SHTF situation.

The Tom Brown Tracker is mostly a gimmick knife IMO and serrations like on the SOG are difficult to resharpen.

Fallknivens are nice, but their tacticool knives have cheapy feeling plastic handles.

For your budget you could get a custom quality knife from Bark River, made from tool steel with a sweet convex grind:

Here's one of my Bravo 1s (I have two, because I wear one of them daily and want a spare in case of loss, theft, etc.):

If you want a more eviler looking coated black blade, look to ESEE knives.  I highly recommend the ESEE-3, ESEE-6, or Laserstrike.  The LS comes with a perfect kydex sheath, and is quite a deal at $110:

Here's my ESEE LS, I've owned every ESEE model and this is by far the best one for general use:
