Do I need a top dollar folder?

I have 2 real Swiss army knives, a sog flash ii,  a crkt m16 and a bunch of fixed blades.

I'm looking at zero tolerance,  Emerson, benchmade, and microtec.

Are they really worthy of the extra money?

I have a bark river bravo 1as my shtf knife.

I just bought a new EDC knife that I really like and that is the CRKT M21-02G on amazon.com for $30 shipped. I really like this knife been carrying it for a week now. If its an EDC knife and there is a chance of losing something I never want to pay more then $30-$50 bucks.

The Zero tolerance gets a lot of good reviews.

I feel exactly the same as the last poster. If i think i have a chance of losing my EDC, i wont spend over $50. I have found a Sog trident for just at $50, I also have a spyderco tenacious and a few other folders.

for hunting, camping, hiking, etc, i carry a better knife.

I don't have any ZT, but they get great reviews. A friend has one and loves it.

I'm between buying a nice knife and a bunch of reloading supplies.  Decisions, decisions.

I found when I carried cheap knives I lost them or misplaced them.

Since I started carrying Benchmades I'm much more careful.

Do you "need" one? No.

Do you want one?

Maybe.

I like the Axis lock on the Benchmades. Ever have a crappy folder fold on your fingers? WIth a good lock that won't happen.

Better steel holds an edge better.

I have to say if you are worried about a blade clossing after open the CRKT knives with AutoLawks is really good. The M21-02G is one tough knife and to close it is kind of hard at first but once you get the hang of it not to bad. I like how the system works. I'm EDCing it now and my Spyderco Tenacious and I like both and right now a rating of 1-5 I'm giving them both a 5. These both are still new to me the Spyderco about two weeks EDC and CRKT a week.

The clip on both is tight they are not coming out of the pocket no way no chance of that. The CRKT rides lower in the pocket then any knife ive owned. Check amazon.com great deals with free shipping.

Buy a cheap knife, buy a cheap handgun like a $179 Hi Point.   There's no difference, right?

After you buy a Benchmade you won't want any other knives, at least this is my experience. I don't think I have lost a knife since I was 10 years old. I now have tow Benchmade knives, the reason I have two is I just sent my 910 back under their life sharp program and didn't want to be with out my knife for two weeks. The 910 I carried daily as a First Responder, and EMT, and after 7 years of heavy use it needed a good sharpening job, I have touched it up from time to time, the only other issue was the belt clip was loose, and the from wear the screw heads were nearly gone, so I had no good way to get them out. My new knife is a Benchmade 580 Barrage it will be come my new EDC knife, although that wasn't the plan, I really like the open assist and the axis locking mechanism better. I always tell people when they are looking at a knife to go look at Benchmade, now they are twice the price of CRKT, but they are more than twice the knife too IMO.
