I took a Becker BK2 in a trade.  It is an original Camillus Becker knife in the box with grips and sheath (currently wearing OD chord on the grip.   My question is what are they worth and how sharp can this thick piece of steel get. It does no look to have been resharpened but also wont shave the hair off my arm.

The BK2 is a great no nonsense knife. Will take what ever you can throw at it.

Despite the thickness, it can get as sharp as your ability will allow. I've seen plenty of scary sharp BK2s as well as other 1/4" blades.

I dunno about them needing to be razor sharp (shrug). They are a good knife and I hope you didn't lose anything on the trade

No I am sure I am ahead in the trade (multi lot trade)  I just really needed to know how sharp these can get as I always use the shave the hair on the hand/arm test and this one will not take anything off. the blade looks as new.  Perhaps I will take it and have a local knife shop put an edge on it. I have a lansky kit but have not mastered its use.
