just finished this one today.  quarter inch Cru Forge V steel with a weathered finish.  wrapped in dark copper flat wrap with natural alligator underlay.  this one was fun to make.

Everything about that is gorgeous! Very well thought out. The finish on the blade is amazing.

Looks great! How thick is it?  Also is it a scandi grind or saber grind?  Looks like a long bur near the tip(or weird lighting) if scandi.

thank you.  it is a saber grind.  i don't do scandi grinds.  there are plenty of folks on that bandwagon right now.  they don't need me jumping in as well.  no offense to any other makers, i just try to steer away from certain trends.  the "burr" is just poor lighting in my pics.  it doesn't actually have the final edge on it in this picture, i try to take my pics before the final edge.  i don't need anymore trouble with glare from shiny edges.    i am not the best photog, but i try.

Very cool.

How do you get the steel to pit like that? I really like the finish.

Is that alligator skin under the wrap?

Good job.

thanks, i take a blade blank and coat it with instant blue and soak it in regular old bleach for a while.  usually takes a couple of days.  it is amazing what household chemicals can accomplish.  yeah, that is natural alligator belly as my underlay.   i love the look and texture of gator hide.  this pitted finish has been pretty popular for me.  i am shipping one for a customer in estonia next week.
