Just wondering if anybody has first hand experience with these knives.  They price is very cheap.  Would this knife be a good second or third knife in a BOB?

Mora knives have a lot of people that like them.  I have never handled one, but their reputation is good.

scandi grind on the blade is great and easy to keep up on.
Cheap.
lightweight.
somewhat durable.
proven design.

only con i can think of is that it is carbon and will need care. also its not a hacker/choper.

Yes.  Moras come in many shapes, sizes, styles, and colors...  all are designed for the working man - someone who wants a good tool at a good price...  they are available in both carbon steel and stainless...  I have about 4 or 5 now...  I plan to pick up a few more (new models)...

The classic Mora a year or 2 ago was the "Clipper"...  the "new & improved" version of the Clipper today would be the "Companion".  It is available in OD green (carbon steel or SS) without serrations and in florescent orange with a SS blade only - with or without serrations.   The serrated version is available with a pointed or blunted tip (this is the only blunted point Companion).

My only complaints about Moras are that most do not have a lanyard hole and most are NOT full tang so pounding on them or prying with them - is something that you probably shouldn't do.  Other than that, they are very sturdy, very functional, very sharp, very light, and very water resistant (the SS ones at least)...  great little knives for a great little price...

YMMV but I am really fond of mine...

ETA: A good place to get a good look at a wide variety of Moras is here...  it's not a bad place to buy them either!...

They are not full tang and have no lanyard hole? Do you have a drill?

I like Mora's. Best knife for the price.

I like them a lot. I wouldn't wanna put them up to real hard use like battening or chopping, but they work great for about everything else. I have had knives the cost 2 and 3 times as much and be awful knives. only problem I have with them is they come with the most horrible sheaths ever. I took a piece of scrap kydex and made a new sheath for mind. added a piece of scrap leather for a belt loop and now my mora is one of my go to knives for light work. for 14.00, give on a try and I don't think you will regret it. here are a few pics of mine and the sheath I made for it.

I own about a dozen of 'em.  Like 'em a lot.  Their Tri-flex blades can be made to be RAZOR sharp.

Good cheap steel, foolproof sharpening. Get some.

They take razor edges, but the scandi grind does make for a comparatively delicate edge. Fortunately carbon steel can be brought back in no time.

I bought one from Sportsman's Guide years ago for $9.  It is one of my go to knives for hunting.  Razor sharp, holds an edge well, and easy to resharpen. The carbon blade also makes for a nice patina.

i bought a bunch of them for about 3.00 ea a few years ago at major surplus.

they take a fantastic edge but are high carbon steel and WILL rust if left unattended.

I have a couple of the older military handled ones that came in a Lineman's kit.  Great blade.  One of the few blades I regret letting loose was a Mora 2000, I need to fix that real soon as I have been leaning to the Scandi grind again.  I kinda go in circles, I love Scandi grinds but they can be a bit delicate; love convex as it is the strongest grind but I am not the best for getting them shaving sharp but once there they are easy to maintain; V grind is my least favorite but probably the best for someone who needs an all around blade to do most things.

Love mine.

And that's exactly what we carry them for, a BOB knife (we have a machete for anything like batoning and a folder or fixed blade on our person).

They are extremely popular in the bushcraft community.

Known as excellent values.

OP,
My BOB has a Seal 2000 strapped to the outside, with a mora riding on the inside. This knife is just the right size to be VERY handy and as stated can be and kept VERY SHARP. Great cheap choice. I also have one in my truck door, my hiking bag and my fishing kit. I can't even tell you how many perch have been slayed by that one in my tackle box.
