Friend of mine has this knife, he has no information on it as he was given it by a vietnam vet a few years ago. Only markings are the W and sideways A on the blade. Can someone identify it?

Is it a boy knife or a girl knife?

I'd call it Harold if it's a boy, Margarette if it's a girl

ETA - Did you change the thread title? I could have sworn it said "Name this knife" ...

It looks like a custom piece to me. I'm not familiar with the mark but that doesn't mean anything as there are a lot of makers out there. Your best bet would be asking in Bladeforums and Knifeforums.

I was thinking the same thing. Those look like "hollow" rivets, and you really don't see those on production knives.

Could be a PX sold knife at that time.Under the bottom of the oval there are 4 lines maybe 4 letters rubbed out?

The 4 lines are just that, a line, the sheath also has the same WA mark on it
