[ARCHIVED THREAD] - storage options

I was cleaning the house today and I was putting my various knives, multitools and flashlights were I normally put them, into a cardboard box on my bookshelf. Now I know this isn't the ideal storage method. It makes it hard to find that one knife that is always on the bottom of the box. I found some knife cases on LAPG and thought I could improvise something better. I was thinking of a tackle box with the movable dividers. So what do you guys use to store knives and similar EDC items? I have about 20 folders, 5 swiss armys, 6 multitools, and 3 fixed blades. I am open to any ideas.

EDC? My pocket or the top of the dresser.

I should have been more specific. Not EDC as in regards to what you take everyday. but EDC tools flashlight, multitool, knife.etc. I keep all my EDC stuff in a pasta bowl. I am looking for something to store my many backup items.

I use the craftsmen toll box chest for those very items.

I have them with the gear I would take for whatever job I am on....EDC is next to bed in tray...

I use one of the plastic shoe organizers that hang on the back of your bedroom door. They have clear pockets and are perfect for backup items.
