[ARCHIVED THREAD] - knife sharpener

Hello,

New to sharpening knives. What is the best sharpener (ie easiest to use and will not damage the knives) for someone who has not sharpened knives before. I have head that the spyderco system is good. Would be sharpening a Scrapyard regulator and want to pick up a Fallkniven F1. Tried researching different forums but cant seem to find anything on sharpening on the knives themselves.

The Spyderco is a great system. That being said, i use diamond bench stones in medium and fine, then I move to a ceramic stick for the finish. I'd suggest picking up a cheap knife, and using it to practice, before you start on the Scrapyard.

I like the edgepro apex. Small learning curve at first but will get blades amazingly sharp.
