Decided to add a multitool to my EDC, but want one with a good quality blade.  Suggestions?

I use a Leatherman Wave.  It's a great multi-tool!

I've tried many different multi-tools over the years, including several Leatherman and Gerber models. The best tool I've found is the SOG EOD. I have yet to find a weakness with this tool, it's worked flawlessly for several years now.

I also carry a sog model but not the EOD since I dont mess with c4 too often.  My last one was a powerlock but I left it on a job somewhere so now I have a power assist on the way.  The bonus of this is the blades are on the outside for quick access and I only loose the tools I never used anyway.  I replacing the v cutter with a saw blade.

I have been using the leatherman super tool since it came out. They have since upgraded and don't make that model any more. I have had great luck with there products. I have also used Gerber, SOG, Victornox, and a few others. I always go back to my leatherman. There are a lot of great multi tools out there with many different tools on them. I would say go to a gun and knife show and check some of them out and see which one fits you the best.

i was in the same boat as you about a month or so ago, after all of the research i did i ended up going with the SOG powerlock, best thing about this tool is you can buy any of the accesories on their website, configure your MT the way you want it and if you break something (blade screw driver tip ect) you can jump on their website and order a new one, heck a new blade is only $6.50, not to mention this tool is built like a brick house, it's hands down the most solid MT i've ever handled, i picked mine up at my local Lowes for $49 considering the leatherman wave is $100+ you'd be crazy to consider that over the SOG especially if you ever handled the SOG, mine has most of what i need, i'll be getting on SOG's website and ordering some odds and ends to make this tool meet my needs

i got the S62 model

Currently carrying a Leatherman Core. Can'tgo wrong with a classic, but I've been looking at the Leatherman Wave. One of my friends just ordered one, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he thinks of it.

+1

I've had mine for just a week and I like it so far.
It has the top 3 things I always seem to be looking for:  a knife, screwdrivers, and pliers.

I have one of the first Gerber multipliers from years ago. It's still a great tool. However, the knife blades on it are somewhat lacking. I also have a Gerber suspension. It's knives are much better quality, but the pliers themselves have what I consider to be a design flaw.

With the jaws closed, the handles are pretty far apart. With the jaws around a bolt, the handles are almost too far apart to grip both of them at the same time.

This could easily be fixed by filing or grinding the spring stops to allow the handles to lie closer together when the jaws are closed. Unfortunately, I broke my torx bits trying to disassemble the tool in order to perform this modification. It seems they used some serious thread locker, or staked the screws after assembly.

Get a leatherman charge tti. It has titanium scales, and a s30v blade. That is my EDC multitool. You save a little weight with the titanium, and it has a better blade than most multitools. It is a little more expensive, but work payed for mine.

This........the suspension is a great tool, the spread on the pliers is too much but otherwise a fantastic tool. For the price (walmart has them for like $26) you won't be disappointed.
