Any one have any experience with the Ka bar/Becker BK9. I'm looking at picking one up and that seems to be the best option for my needs at the price point.
All input welcome. Thanks, Brad |

I have one and I like it alot. I don't care for the sheath that comes with it. I wanted to replace the sheath with the Spec-ops
Large model but the blade is too long for the sheath. Other than that I am satisfied. I got mine from lapolicegear.com for $72. About the cheapest I could find when I was looking. Breacher |

I have a small collection of Camillus-made Beckers and I really like them.
My BK9 is the Hog Hunter model, which is just a BK9 with the swadge sharpened. It's a nice big blade, but I actually find the BK7 more useful. If you need your Becker to do double duty as a machete or short sword, the BK9 would be a better choice. If you're a fan of the USMC KaBar, you'll fall in live with the BK7. |

BK9 is a big mother. Nearly too big for my taste for an everyday field knife. BK |

I used to be really big into large knives. I still am (khukuri's), but for a western styled knife, more and more I'm using blades of about 6" to 7".
Sometimes I carry a khukuri out in the woods, and I do like em big, or I'll carry my BK7 with one of my tomahawks. All my Beckers are the Camillus models. For some reason the BK7 takes the keenest edge of them all. I reckon they got the tempering precisely right with that one. It's scary sharp. |
