Why would you throw your weapon away?  Don't you like it?  Do you want to give it to the bad guy so he can kill you?

He'll throw a tomahawk because its fun. Haven't you ever been out camping and thrown an axe? Its pretty fun and not as hard as you may think, even with normal axes.

If this is your only use for it, check out some 'mountain man' pages. They have hawks that are specially made for throwing.

They even have competitions! I saw one where a little 14-year-old girl was throwing almost constantly... I watched her practice for about 20 minutes, she threw probably 40-50 times, and NEVER missed!

I just want to learn to throw an axe.  I already carry a Glock 17 everywhere,  I was looking at the Cold Steel Hawk.  I am going to pick one up.   What do you all use as a target?

A good target is the one reccommended by Gil Hibben. Been usin em for a while. Construction adhesive a bunch of 2x4 lengths on the long side together till it is wide enough and then hang away from wall or a free standing fr
ame ( tree branch?). It will swing a bit and you wont get hit by a rebound.
