Are there any knife makers here? I have an unfinished fixed blade I would like to have finished, basically it is a cut blank from D2 (I think). I have scales for the handle but nothing else. If you are interested please IM me so I can get you some pics of the blank and give you details of what I would like done. Thanks for any help, of coarse I will pay for the work. Thanks, rustee |
| I think you might have a hard time finding someone who is willing to finish a knife when you are unsure of the steel. D2 requires a specific heat treatment including higher temperatures and longer soak times, unlike the simpler carbon steels which are easier to do. Is there any way you could find out exactly what kind of steel it is? |
