It has USMC stamped near the hilt and below that it has the word PLUMB in a box stamped below that. I found this one in a trash dump many years ago. The wood was long gone and the metal,even though it has quite a bit of pitting I believe this knife would clean up nicely. My searches online have given me very little info. | If it's the one with the round blade they were issued to corpsmen that served with the FMF in WWII. Supposed to be used for cutting litters and such. I'm sure machine gunners used them for clearing fields of fire also, there are some pictures of combat Marines carrying them on their packs. |
