I have a gi tanto and the thing is razor sharp and built like a tank. The day I got it I tested it out by cutting through a broken camelbak carrier. It cut it in half in one slash. It cost me 15 bucks so even if I smash it apart I don't really care. This guy beats the ever living shit out of it. www.knifetests.com/page28.html My buddy has some 400 dollar san mai folder from them and seems to dig it a lot. If their cheap ass knives stand up to a crazy beating like that then I would venture to say their higher end products probably are respectable. I don't have any experience with their higher end stuff. I know that the lower end stuff is made in china so if you are looking for a U.S. made knife you have to check. |

I have a Voyager, GI Tanto, Shanghi Shadow, Master Hunter Carbon V and an ODA Carbon V and an SRK in AUS8. I have liked them all and wish I could get an ODA in AUS 8 instead of that KRUPPs steel thay are using. I also have multiple Kithchen knives and a Finn Bear, Canadian Belt Knife and Roach Belly that I use in the Kitchen and the Finn Bear is in my Tackle Box. My Sons have an AK47 folder that is built like a tank and has been beaten to death and keeps going and they each have a Bushman and the standard Bushman seems to be a bit better. All in all they make a decent knife or have them made . I prefer Kershaws to most of the folders they have out now and I would not buy a full sized survival knife made out of KRUPPs either. The GI Tanto and the Bushman are probably the best "value" for a fixed blade out there but that is just my opinon. Many people do not like them for "political" reasons in the knife world realm but some just do not care for the knives they have made. I like mine but they are not the be all end all of knife companys. Kershaw and Benchmade both make better folders for the same price in my opinion except the AK47 that is one beefy folder. That is my opinion any way. |

A CS Voyager with a tanto point was one of my 1st decent knives. It was ok, don't ever let it get really dull. Once i finally ot an edge on it a quick brusk on the steel would have it shaving sharp again. The zytel handles dont conduct electricity(Thank God). The blade has chunks missing out of it now. I now have a Recon Tanto, Kukri, and Recon Scout. Not my absolute favorites but I dont have any real complaints. Just keep them sharp. BK |
What exactly are the politics here? I've noticed that some people really seem to hate them, but I've never heard the story. |

I made an order with them 2 weeks ago and received my package today. let me say I'm kinda pissed. I ordered 4 knives and received only 2. when I placed the order everything sad in stock and one of them didn't ship and is on "back order". I ordered 2 machetes and only received one and no explanation for missing the other, no now I need to take time and call these bastards |
Just get an Airborne Deluxe sheath from Blackhawk. They come in different sizes and are molle compatible. |
Some people hate the videos they make. Some say they rip off every ones designs however after several thousand years of knives being made it is hard not to see knives being made that do not look like anything you have seen before. The mother of all issues was the "Strider" issue which a simple search will I am sure show you everything. I like the fact that they make classic designs affordable and in my opinion they make a decent knife. I do not care for some off the new stuff as much as what they used to do though. |
Lynn Thompson is absolutely shameless when it comes to marketing. He rips off designs from all over, bad mouthes other companies and makers while simultaneously ripping off their designs, and makes frequent conflicting statements which, while disguised as advise, are really nothing more than attempts to push his customers into buying his knives. |
Like I said. Polatics.
