Anyone else love this knife? I had a MOD Harkins Trition that I carried everywhere with me, until I bought the Benchmade. The Benchmade locks up much tighter and has little to no play in the blade. The MOD was tight too, certainly no flea market automatic, but it had WAY more side/side and up/down play/rattle than the Infidel. One thing I did like more about the MOD was the skateboard tape handle and the dual serrations. I just prefer serrated blades for defensive knives... While the Benchmade lacks serrations, I like the D2 blade better than the 154CM of the Triton and the metal handle adds weight and durability. The MOD always felt kind of light, almost "cheap" compared to the Benchmade. I carry my Infidel with me everywhere I go. Anyone else carry/own an Infidel or Trition? What do you think? I have always wondered how well a knife like this would hold up in a fight/heavy work. I am pretty sure it would break if I jammed it into a tree stump at full blast, not to mention that stunt would probably cost me use of my hand/finger and life, if the bleeding wasn't stopped. How durable is this knife compared to my Osborn or Mini Reflex, or even the Trition? Any automatic knife experts out there? |
| im not sure about the infidel, but ive had a benchmade automatic (not sure which model) that my dad gave me for about 6+ years now. ive put that knife through hell and it still opens perfect and locks up tighter than a ticks ass. ive been more than happy with every benchmade ive owned. |
| Love my infidel. Wife was doing some work at the Benchmade factory in Oregon where we used to live, she picked it up at the factory for me as a gift when I came back from Korea. Dont really carry it much though, always afraid i'll lose the damn thing, she would be pissed! |

I have both the infidel and the mini reflex. I have carried the mini reflex for the past 6 years every day. The handle is silver in spots from everyday use, but aside from that, I have had zero issues with that knife. I have had the infidel for 6 months or so, and daily carry it now. I will say that you must be very careful when switching to a double edged knife when you are not used to it. It is much larger than the mini reflex, and feels sturdy to the touch. It does however seem to collect a lot of lint from your pockets, and needs to be cleaned out often. I use compressed air to blow out any debris and use dry lube as to not attract any more dirt. I have had the blade derail twice, which doesn't hurt it, but is annoying. Overall, I like the quality of both knives. Both knives hold an edge, but the infidel is harder to sharpen, plus there are two sides to sharpen. Personally, I like the smaller size of the mini reflex, and if it were double action, I would probably use it more than the infidel. |
