I picked this knife up about a year ago from a local gun shop for $100. The story behind it is that the manufacturer found some old stock, and the dealer bought them. I haven't really been able to find out much about this thing and was wondering if someone could help. I'm not sure exactly what I have here. It does not have the super hard finish that was on the original. The blade appears to be parkerized. It has a metal butt cap, and the handle appears to be some kind of composite. The blade is chisel ground. The damn thing weighs as much as a meat cleaver. Did they ever make a "cheper" version of the specwar? Came with some cheesey nylon sheath.
