Colt Knives are produced under license by United Cutlery.
I have one of the Colt Hatchets that I keep with my gear on ATV, it was Made in the USA. There are better out there, but for the price you really can't beat them

I consider the new stuff junk and i wouldnt use them if someone gave me a dozen of them for free.

United cutlery, that explains everything right there.

Actually the quality of United varies from total shit to excellent.
My  Lainhart machete is a great blade, but I've gotten some folders that were total junk.

Mostly Chinese crap...Same with S&W, Remington, Winchester, etc, etc, etc.

They just license the names and have shitty knives made in China.
