| the chris reeve green beret knife feels the best in my hand - the fit/finish is very smooth - seems like a very capable knife. the other knife i really like is the extrema ratio - but the handle is just a tiny bit too small (for my hand anyways). in a shtf scenario - i wouldnt hesitate to grab either of these. the knife that may be best suited for a survival knife or just a good all around knife would be the tom brown tracker knife. it has a very thick blade and probably the most uses of any in my collection. it can be used for cutting, chopping, throwing (tomahawk style), has a gut hook, saw, wire breaker; and gives you the impression when holding it - that it can take anything you throw at it. after all that, the knife that i probably use the most (well definately would be a better word) would be the little benchmade auto. it has counter duty in my kitchen and sees daily use. other than having to be sharpened (due to years of use cutting cardboard boxes and what not) it has been perfect. i prefer the tanto style blade of the sog folder and envisioned when i bought the sog that i'd use the benchmade less - but that hasnt happened. may be just out of habit or the fact that i havent found too many jobs that the benchmade hasn't been able to handle. as for looks my favorite would be the buck collectors dagger, but the blade is so thin on that knife that it'd probably be the last i'd ever choose to do any real cutting with. |

"This is the real deal. A genuine Military Issue OD Black (This knife is issued in Black and OD Gray to the US Military EOD Teams) M-11 EOD Knife from Lan Cay! The knife features the new ergonomic handle, a special request from the US Military. Everything is Guaranteed to be new and made with pride in the USA by the fine folks at LanCay. This is a very limited production Lan Cay knife. The M-11 designed in collaboration with the US Army's 52nd Ordnance Division, is a specialty knife based on the M9 Bayonet." that was the ad for the knife on ebay - i bought it because i was looking for a black bayonet for my ar15. when i got the knife i realized it wasnt a bayonet... so now im looking again, but im happy with the knife - it is of very solid construction, and lan cay is known for their reliability under the harshest of conditions. as for the buck sheath by the knife - thats just where that sheath happend to be when i was taking the picture. |
