Becker makes a great knife for the money, but for a little more, you can get a Ranger Knives RD7. 5160 spring steel, quarter inch thick and damn near indestructable. I personally believe that for extreme use, the RD7 beats the Becker hands down, but the Becker might be a slightly better cutter. The Becker has a much thinner edge than the Ranger, but that is what makes the Ranger so bulletproof. Also, Ranger Knives has the best customer service in the industry. They have a lifetime warranty and Justin Gingrich, the owner, stands behind the blades 100%. If you have a problem with the blade, he will fix it, no questions asked. The have a good forum over at knifeforums right Here

Here is the official website, which you can order from. I received my blade, which was slightly custom, in under a week.

Ranger Knives

Here is another great place to order the blades,

Sage Creek Outfitters

Here are a few pics of my recently acquired RD7, satin finished with Tan Micarta scales. I have beat the crap out of this blade and it still shaves cleanly. Amazing.

I have one.  I use it in my camping stuff.  It's a big bastard but I've used it from everything from firewood chores to opening cans and prying on stuff.  It's held up well.
