I went through all of the .50BMG uppers and decided on the MAG-50. Watsons Weapons has a great reputation, but I did not like the loading operation. The LRS just did not look appealing to me and all the statement about the ammo you can shoot or better what you can't. The LRS is very limited on the ammo you can shoot. The Farrett looked good, but for the price a few hundred more dollars and you can get a complete BFG-50 Serbu. Also the MAG-50 was designed by Mark Serbu and most of the parts are made by Mark. His guns have a great reputation.

Decided not to get the MAG-50. The people that ordered in October 2002 have not got there's yet. I am getting the Farrett50 18 inch. Hope to have it by next week...

I love my Ferret (36 incher). Seems to be a high quality product. Here is a hint for you. remove the screws that hold the bipod on and hit them with a bit of Lock-tite and reinstall them. I took mine out of state and the screws came loose and I didn't have the neccesary wrench to tighten them back down. I would highly advise the use of a secondary hammer spring as well. I need to get around to ordering one myself.

I will do that put, lock tight on the bipod screw. I am reloading do you think I will really need to use a secondary hammer spring. I do not plan on using surplus ammo. mostly my reloads or Talon ammo. I have a new Bushmaster lower I will be using on the Farrett.

I have been shooting talon stuff and occasionally get a misfire. Most of the time the round will go off on the second attempt. The misfires happen just often enough to keep ya guessing and be a minor annoyance. I really need to get around ordering a spring.........
