It's a Steyr, there was a story about a decade ago about the Taliban getting ahold of a small quantity.
Would have to use some googlefoo to look it up tto get the facts. There was all kinds of hate on Steyr for selling them the rifles. That wasn't how it went down, it was a third-party that was involved in getting them the rifles. I'm sure if it was an American company there wouldn't have been any question. |

The OP rifle appears to me to be a much smaller caliber rifle using probably an AR-30 brake. Not a Steyr of any version I have ever seen.
Note the scope rail attach. This is a shell-holder-style, single shot. The videos in the 4th post show a totally different rifle - but probably .50 BMG. |
