Hopefully I'll have a Barrett M99 in my hands by the end of next week. It will have the 32" heavy barrel ultra high rings and Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x50mm scope. The longest range close by is 600 yards if it still open. Other than that, most ranges are 100 yards unless I become a member somewhere. What yardage would you suggest setting the zero to? I'm thinking 200 or 300 might be the best bet. For ammo, I'll probably use American Eagle that has the LC brass or the stuff from Survival Ops most of the time. I may run some 750gr A-MAX once in a while.

I zero mine at 300 and then make adjustments from there.  If I remember correctly I have to come up about 7.5 mils to get on paper at 1000.  I'm reloading 750 gr. A-Max bullets at about 2550 fps.

IMO, depends on how far you plan to shoot.  If you want to shoot long distance, you want MOA built into the scope bases and have more elevation available in the scope adjustment.  Here's a good trajectory table for 50bmg

Myself would zero for the range you shoot at the most. Then make adjust at the other ranges.

i zeroed at 100yds and then plan on getting the dope for every 100yds after that.

Exactly. The whole point of a zero is to set it at the range you use most. Dope sheets make up for everything else.
