I think I'm set on a 30" barrel but I'm not sure about the chambering options. What are the opinions and reccomendations between the 50BMG and 50 Match chambering. What exactly are the differences?
I do plan on reloading and also would like be able to shoot factory or mil surp ammo.
I'm not in CA nor do I ever plan on going back except for family gatherings so The 50DTC is not required.
Thanks

depending on the manufacture a match chamber WILL NOT chamber a mil spec round
some match chambers are more finicky than others
if you are going to get a match chamber rifle the lee press may no work for reloading unless you were to deck off .010" off the shell holder
i have a standard chamber upper and a match chambered upper and i now keep my brass segregated

I don't have any problem loading ammo with my Lee press and dies for any of my match chambers.  My Lee seater die gives me better run out than my RCBS seater does.  No problems sizing brass with either kit for a match chamber.

i had a hard time bumping the shoulders back far enough with the lee setup

So it sounds like the BMG standard chamber would be the most versatile.

One of my rifles has a 30" barrel with a standard chamber and I have shot in a few 1000 yard matches and won 1st place in 2 matches and shot smallest group in Light Gun class at a match with it.

Yes I agree the 50BMG would be more versatile.

KD185, I also have the LEE press with the LEE dies. I have the Ferret-50 with the "Tight Chamber". I have had no problems with the length or shoulders needing to be bumped back more. But I do have to neck turn so that the necks are .019" thick. Anything over .020 could cause dangerous chamber pressures.  You must have gotten a resizer that was out of specs.
