Greetings all,

Need some help w/ID'ing some 50 BMG I purchased @ the gun show. Details are as follows: Black Box, 10 Rounds, Brass marked "WCC 05", label on box reads "50 BMG, 770 Grain Solid Match, 2472-6 CH"...picked it up 2 boxes @ $60.00. Also, primers are sealed in red.

thanks!

Sounds like it's left over stuff from the militaries trials for a new .50 sniper round, what did the box look like that it was packed in? WCC is Winchester, 05 is the year the brass was made.

Post a pic of the bullet and case if you can, I have a loaded round from the tests for my collection. I know that Win. sold all the parts off after they lost the trials, I think it was HSM or TTI that bought the stuff up. If you have stuff that's from the tests it's worth more to collectors then what you paid.

Some of the "sniper" ammo is a brass bullet, 750g with an .125" diameter hollow point .5" deep

Gent's,

Thanks for the info...here's a pic of the ammo - they're not hollow tip bullets, however, they do seem to be some type of machined solid brass.

thanks!
