Just started reloading .50 BMG using the LEE BMG kit and using brand new .50 BMG brass and running it through the sizing die mostly to get the bullet opening round as some are slightly off.

I reload a number of pistol and rifle calibers so this is not my first attempt.

Running the .50 BMG brass through the sizing die and it "feels" a bit rough as the shell gets 3/4 of the way in. As it gets inserted completely and during the extraction, it feels as though there is a burr or some piece of metal in there.

Although the brass, when removed, has a black line, it can be rubbed off, you can see a slight mark on the brass. It is ever so slight, but I can see it and it is in the same spot each time.

Has anyone experienced this with the Lee kit? Should I request a new sizing die?

OK,

Your getting some resistance and marking from a burr on the vent hole in the sizer die.
The expander decaping rod is a taper fit rod. Remove the retaining nut from the top of the die and tap out the rod. You may have to use a block of wood and a hammer if it is in tight.

Once you have the rod out, take some steel wool or a small file and dress the burr off of the edge of the vent hole and reassemble your die. You should be good to go then.

I popped the pin and placed my finger there and it was smooth.
Ran a few patches through and cleaned the pin and now there are no more marks.

It is still a bit rough but the important part is no more visible marks.
