The bolt on my AR50 is hard to open and close.. I went to a shoot this weekend and it seemed to get worse the more I shot it and or it got hot.. Is this normal or could it be a cleaning thing? How do you guys clean your bolt and how wet do you run them?? Thanks |

Take your bolt apart and clean it, the rear end unscrews and the bolt comes apart. If yours is a newer one be careful, the older ones (like mine) seemed to have the bolt handles pressed on. The newer ones are looser fitting and will drop off the bolt, I found this out the hard way when taking apart a friends. I had to take my bolt out and look at it to get it lined up right when putting it back together. It's not a hard process but one you should do to clean inside the body of the bolt and to lube the firing pin spring. |
| My AR-50 bolt is also tight. I have maybe 150 rounds through it and I really don't think that it has loosened up any for me. Maybe over time it will, but it really doens't bother me. Other than having to show everyone who tries to load a round how hard you actually have to smack the bolt handle to get it to close. |
