Does anyone have info other than marketing information that I have found? Specifically anout the AW50. |
Dang Tony, I would hope AI would get a better report than "on par with an M82". Thats like showing up at a Benchrest match with an old Mauser and 8mm Turkish surplus ammo from the '60's.![]() I saw one in the flesh for the first time at the SAR show. They have alot going on when you look at them. They definately have a "cool factor" to them which is about all I would relate to the M82. Try here if you haven't already: http://members.inteliport.net/~blanksguns/ |
| Go to Snipershide.com and I think there are some guys that have them. I don't think you could get them imported into the States. I have a AI in 308 and love it. Wish I was able to afford a AI50. It's hard enough trying to save for a McBro Tactical 50. Even though I just bought a Barrett on layaway. |
I have shot the AI-AW50 on two occasions-- both with a suppressor mounted. TACPRO had us shoot a couple rounds from one as part of a stage at their Sniper Tournament in June, and then they brought a bunch of demo rifles up to RM3G in Raton in August. [ link to LARGER image ] [ link to LARGER image ]It is an impressive machine. We didn't shoot it without the can, but recoil seemed like it was less than a McMillan 50, but more than a AR50. It is very comfortable to shoot-- if you've shot an AI rifle or AICS, it has almost the exact same ergos. You should contact TACPRO shooting center for more information. They are the best AI dealer in the country. |
