Just got my AR50 today!!!!!!!!!  I have a concern with some wavy looking marks on the front part of the receiver right in front of the ejection port that encircles the receiver.  Are these "marks" from some sort of heat treating process or do I have a bad receiver?  These impressions are unifrom and are confined to a one inch wide ring that goes around the receiver.

Hmmm - can you post some pictures? Mine does not have these marks. It might be worth it to call Armalite. Their customer service is pretty decent.

Confirmed through ArmaLite, they are from the heat treating.  This is normal and every AR-50 I have seen has it.

Welcome to the .50 club.
Now, practice wiping that stupid grin off your face.
You need to work to buy ammo.

Hey Texashark, it is hard to get the damn grin off my face!  Thanks for the replys folks, I just noticed in the fine print that what I see is normal and it's from the heat treating process.
