Satisfied Cobb BA50 owner.

I love having 10 rounds of 50BMG goodness at my disposal.

Don't make fun of the scope, I'm going to order a SuperSniper 20X42 before too long

Thanks AZhammer.  I'm looking forward to putting some decent glass on the beast.  I can't believe that the cheapo NcStar has held up for over 250 rounds so far but I know I'm giving up a lot on the clarity.

IShootPics,
the PRS is great, holding up very well and the adjustability is wonderful for getting to a comfortable shooting position, especially the cheek rest when using a tall scope mount.

Even though the recoil is pretty mild (very comprable to the AR50), I wouldn't mind finding a rubber butt pad to slip on there.  I've already had two shooting sessions where I shot close to 100 rounds each and wasn't sore at all except that I had accidently let the stock creep up into my collarbone a little.  I'd highly recommend it.

I might try one of those before going with another ACE stock. I already broke the adjuster on my M4 SOCOM stock.

Here's the pics of my "budget" .50BMG.. I maybe have about $1700 into this according to the trade I did for it.  Going to go with a different lower and stock, and probably a new grip.

Another stock that you might want to take a look at here, (the billet aluminum one).  I thought that it looked pretty sharp, but it didn't have a raised cheek rest like I figured I would need with the Cobb.

A lot of scope snobs would be amazed at how well the NcStar stuff works.  Yeah, it's no Leupy, but it don't cost $1000.

Those same scope snobs would tell you the Super Sniper is no good as well, but I have a 20x SS on my AR50 (as well as 10x SS on 3 other rifles) and it works great.  I can't see paying another $700 for something that is a tiny bit better.

Cool paint job DVDTracker.

I had considered doing my Cobb in something like this but I've never had a gun painted and I'm a little apprehensive about it.

This thing took more than a week of convincing and sweet talking that I really needed it.  I told the wife I'm sorry,  I have an uncurable disease.  Here she is.

ETA: It's a Barrett model 99-1 and that is my dog's foot hanging off the couch .

To the one wanting to know what it is.

This is a Barrett 95M.  Bolt action repeater with 5rnd mag.  Took it to the Hun Farm in TX this past weekend and was very impressed with its accuracy.

here is a picture of my LAR GRIZZLY. her bite and bark are both equally viscious!
with the silencer on, you need no hearing protection at all! amazing how quiet it is. the silencer was made by SOUND TECHNOLOGY. ive fired well over 400 rds through it with no problems at all. kirkhttp://i13.tinypic.com/2yxq5us.jpg

I've been contemplating getting a supressor for mine (although the Grizzlys are one of the quietest .50's I've heard)......I'm interested in how much you paid for it.

Here's mine:

hello. i paid around 1200.00 for it without the 200.00 tax about 4 years ago. i beleive mark ( sound tech ) has changed them ( shorter? ) and im sure they have gone up in price. i got into a big argument with the good old boys at subguns about how quiet it is. before i bought mine, i did alot of research. it was the quietest can made. it was tested and found to be quieter than a ruger 10-22. the ruger tested at 144 decibles while the suppressor tested at 143 decibles. to say it does a good job is an understatement! it is truly unbeleivable! you have to hear it to beleive it. there is no need for hearing protection at all! there is bullet flight noise, but basically what you hear is a big WHOOOOSH! sound. there is no muzzle flash or blast.

it is 12 inches long. it is 2 inches in diameter and weighs 5 pounds. even my machineguns dont attract as much attention as the 50 with the can. the can is built like a tank. the baffles are about 1/4 inch thick. it is all welded. in case your wondering, the thread pitch on the grizzlies is: one and a half by fourteen. kirk

Nice rig...
But my 99 is way better 4 shot 4 hits at the O2 tank with 4 different shooters...

I had 3 shots 2 different shooters hitting the 1" thick plate 325yds roughly.  Got tired of knocking the tank down after every shot

i picked up a windrunner.  i'm using a mark4 in 16x mildot with leupold tac rings.  i changed the factory trigger out for a kepplinger set trigger and i love it!!!  i've been using some HSM, but this rifle seems to especially like TTI 750 AMAX - i shot just a few thousands over 1/2MOA at 100 with it and my best 1k yard group to date with the TTI stuff is just a little over 9" - all were five shot groups with several minutes to allow for cooling.

at home on the deck:

at Gordy Gritters personal 1k range:

another one at Gordy's range:

broken down in the case:

this rifle is ultra accurate as it has surpassed my expectations and i'm a harsh critic of accuracy.  i didn't buy a 50 to have a 50.  i bought a 50 to make 1/2" holes in little tiny groups at long range and this is the ticket.  if you're looking for a boomer there are plenty of options at less cost that i'd highly recommend.  if you have the means and accuracy is a must i would suggest you check out EDM Arms.  what a rifle!  thank you Bill Ritchie and Stewart Wilson for the help and hard work!
