| ok i have a problem. Ive got money to burn and i desperatly want a fifty. i want some thing mobile and acurate. here is the catch. i shoot left handed. I would love a Barret but it looks like the way they are set up it would be impossible to shoot left handed. im thinking AMAC 5100. What do you think? |
| I am pretty sure that State Arms has a Lefty, I am sure you can shoot it left handed. I used to shoot left side but my eye isn't so good so I switched to right, unless theoprics are good then I is usually left, depending on which rifle I am using. Good Luck be safe and have fun! |
Not a problem, I'm LH also, get yourself a Left Hand press and load your own LH ammo. (LH primers can be hard to find at times!). By the way EDM makes a beautiful take down Left Hand 50BMG (Windrunner?), if that money can make a $7k pile. It is one fine fitting mechanism and fits in a short gun case. The Ferret50 comes in Left Hand according to the website, fits on an AR15 lower so you can order it online and not need to screw with a FFL transfer. About $1400 if I recall correctly. Never fired one personally. Serbu in LH? I don't know. Price is reasonable. You could shoot a right hand bolt-action from the wrong side, but like you said the bull-pup types are no-go. Personally I detest RH actions and the idea that I should "learn to conform". Watch your RH buddies try to shoot your LH rifles and tell THEM to lear to conform. Being LH we learn early to be ambidextrious in many activities, but shooting is one place we can do it right (or is that Left). |
Yes, we do make the Ferret50 left handed at no additional charge. Here is a left hand comp rifle we built for FCSA Light Gun Class.![]() Also, here are a couple of FCSA Hunter Class rifles. ![]() Thank you, Dave www.ferret50.com |

I am a left-handed shooter and have fired the Barrett 99 and M82A1. The 99 is very left-hander friendly, as you can keep your firing hand on the grip, working the bolt with your right hand. I found I could work the bolt, fire, eject the spent brass, and drop in a new round very easily. The heavy barrelled 99 is not bad, recoil-wise, either... The M82A1 is a big pussycat...... |

Remman, I'm left handed also, I've got a McBros Tactical 50. I love it. When i do go shoot it, I usually shoot about 80-100 rds a day. Thats about the limit for me....hacko.gif |
| You'd be amazed how mild the felt recoil is on most 50's. After a day of shooting the AR50 I don't even notice any shoulder discomfort. Now a headache is a different thing. I think the concussion from the muzzleblast messes me up but I don't know for sure it that's what causes it. |
