Anybody who’s anybody in this industry knows that Geissele makes the best M4 triggers in the industry.  There is just no comparison to others on the market when it comes to durability, reliability, and performance.  I have them in all of my M4/AR’s that I shoot with any regularity.

I also like the SCAR FOW.  They are good, accurate, reliable guns and there’s only a few things I’d change about them to make them better (especially the Heavy; great gun).  The trigger is one of them.  The OEM trigger is not horrible, but it’s not great.  It is a reliable duty/combat trigger with a fairly clean single stage break in the 8lb range, but I felt it was the one thing that was holding me back on the gun when it came to really precise shooting.

A few years back Geissele released a trigger for the SCAR made with their typical attention to detail and excellence.  Unfortunately, it was machined from billet in fairly short runs and retailed for $400.  That meant that they were hard to find and when you could find them they were pricey.  That changed in the fall of 2012 when Mr. Geissele invested in the forgings and toolings to produce these triggers on the same scale as the rest of his line.  While it didn’t bring the Super SCAR trigger down to that of an SSA the MSRP of $325 is a “little” easier to swallow.

I finally got a Super SCAR at SHOT Show this year and immediately installed it into my SCAR 16S Standard.  Installation was not difficult, but is much more involved than an M4.  The only special tool required is a very small flat tip screw driver to remove the selector lever.  Make sure you watch the installation video here and follow the instructions here as you go.

The difference is night-and-day!  While changing out a trigger isn’t going to make your weapon more intrinsically accurate it can make it easier to exploit that accuracy.  That is absolutely the case here where an excellent trigger has allowed me to wring out that last 5-10% of performance.  If you’re looking to get that last little bit of performance out of your SCAR 16/17 I highly recommend giving one a shot.  I’m getting another to drop into my Heavy for some long distance shooting this spring.  I’ll update this thread after I do.

Oh man I want one of these bad I hate the stock trigger in my 17s.  I Have to beast my trigger to pull it and it makes grouping a PITA and I know the rifle is capable of tighter groups but I am having to squeeze the hell out of mine to get it to fire.

I love the Super SCAR trigger, definitely a good upgrade. I'd buy another for my second scar if they were in stock anywhere.

When I ordered mine through midway, it was estimated April delivery time.  I checked the other day, now its next fall.  Hopefully I get it in April...

I'll bet it will not be longer than two weeks and Midways backorders will be cleared out
