Looking at optics, but not sure what everyone is running.
Looking for some feedback.
Was thinking 1-4 or 1-6?
Thanks

Bigger the objective lens the better.  All those tubes with no bell for bigger objective lens are just useless unless it's daylight.
Trijicon 2.5-10x56 with mil dot.  2.5 is still usefull for predators at shorter range.  10x is what Vietnam era snipers used.  56 mm lets bunches of light in for low light use.
My buddy has a 5-10x50 and probably hasn't shot it above 14x yet.
If you need something faster than a 2.5x setting you'll be better served with a red dot or Eotech.

I moved my PST 1-4 onto it, as its a fighting rifle, and since I stole it from my precision AR, I got it a new used night force

I like your rationale, and your rifles!

I fixed the PST in the mount so its equal, why I installed it like that I dont know.  Have my Form 1 to get a 13" barrel when FN releases them, and a Form 4 for my SDN-6 -

Thanks for the replies and pics.
I am trolling the EE for after Christmas deals for now. :)
I might just start with a Primary Arms or Vortex 1-4 in a LT104 or Bobro mount and spread the cash around a little for now.
I would LOVE a 1-6, so I will keep looking for a bit.
Thanks again.

The trijicon 2.5-10 is on sale at optics planet. http://www.opticsplanet.com/trijicon-accupoint-2-5-10x56-30mm-riflescope.html

Honestly the rifle is a 308 and it deserves more mag then 4x. For the $670 I think the accupoint is perfect.

I have a 4x ACOG on my 16 which is great.

I put a trijicon accupoint 3-9x40 in LaRue mount on my 17 and it just seems really big, clunky, and top heavy.  I may go with something else.

Thats the only bitch i have with the Elcan, its huge but somehow it looks right on there.

Tried a mark 4 1-5 and 2-8, but didn't like and found a 2.5-10 nf to fit the bill perfectly.

I ordered a Zeiss Zplex as it has a $100 buck rebate making it $299 at SWFA (a site sponsor).  I really wanted an ACOG but thought I should leave that for the .223 and try a little more magnification for a .308 rifle. I got the Z600 which is 3x9x40.

For the money, the trijicon above is a good option, but you could also look at a Leupold VX-R series in 3-9x40 or 4-12x40. I'm picking up a used Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 for it. The chambering deserves some magnification.

I am using a Leupold Mark 4 MR/T 1.5-5x20mm M2 with a Larue mount. Pretty awesome so far. I've had it out to 200 yards and I am impressed with what she can do.

Nice paint job! :)
Thanks for the info everyone.
Based on your input and what I have been looking at, I am thinking of going with a greater magnification.
Prob a Leupold or Trijicon.
Thanks for all the replies.

Awsome! it is a 2eye open almost 1x for CQB and the 4x  glass is truly top notch . The illumination really works well at dusk and dark back grounds. I have always been spendy on optics and weapons I have expensive taste.
but this less expensive optic is very impressive.      http://youtu.be/l27uTiDjre0

I'll post a pic manana.

I went with the Elcan 1.5 by 6 on my black one and the acog with doctor optic and IR/green laser on my FDE one

I went with the 1-4 Elcan - its a versatile optic for a battle rifle , the 1.5-6x is also really nice, too.

ACOG TA33-9 GREEN CHEVRON.

1 MOA 1" AT 100 METERS 2MOA  2"AT 200 8" AT 500 M WITH 168 MATCH.

IT IS LIGHT NEEDS NO BATT AND HAS GREAT EYE RELIEF.

ITS NO SNIPER SCOPE BUT THE SCAR'S TRIGGER ISN'T SNIP ER GRADE.

I have a Vortex 1-4 with a LT-104 and am pretty happy with it. I did manage a nice 3/4" five shot group at 100 yds with it the other day with fed 168's. For my AO a 300 yard shot is pretty hard to come by so anything over 4x is just over kill. Plus I have an OBR for extreme accuracy. I also like that it's illuminated which almost doubles as a red dot.
