Anyone take out their dust protector to make the mags drop free. Was it a pain?

Mine pretty much melted out and mags still don't drop free..

Mags come out easier though

piece of cake. Just use a small punch to pop the rubber "rivets" that hold it in and they come right out. Mine Al mags dropped free after I did that. Of course I did a little dremmel work and they REALLY drop free now...and P-mags fit too.

I trimmed mine, mags come out easier but don't drop free. With the mag release the way it is, I didn't see any benefit in having them drop free.
