Just put one together yourself. Theres nothing special about the tools! Get the seekonk wrench and the right size torx/allen bits and a nice liitle pouch and your good.......

seekonkbarrel wrench Nice try, but That's not the only part in the tool kit. Thanks for playing though. |
Yea, and the barrel change guide covered in combat acetate, gotta have one of them, and the clear plastic zero target, and some black silky soffee running shorts in XXXXXXL to wear while eating cheetos and pleasuring myself thinking that this weapon is just like the National assets are using
So how are those barrel changes going for folks? Got the Multicam quiver to carry those "Quick Change" barrels for on the fly changes to your mission profile? Or are the steel screws going into al you minimum when subjected to multiple heat and cool cycles just shearing off? Eagle made the molle pouches that you can mount center chest on your gear, Im not for sure who makes the closed cell foam padding, nor the zipper or the pull the dot snaps. |

Leave your awesome ego at the door. Nope not done yet. There was a whole lot more info in my post than you might realize at first glance, I mean Gee, you found out who makes the pouch, 2 items that are part of the kit that no one else had talked about and even some really good info on why perhaps FN is not putting barrel removal info in the civ manual. and you want to complain? |

seekonkbarrel wrench Nice try, but That's not the only part in the tool kit. Thanks for playing though. I never said it was the only part. I did say you could put one together and have everything you need for the SCAR without having the "real" SOF SCAR kit. The link was only one example. Dont be a dick and use your brain to figure some stuff out.... |

Which is really all I wanted, but figured it would be part of the "kit."

The only thing in the kit I thought would be hard to either get or make was the piston remover. Other than that Im sure people could find something that would work. You dont have to have a FN carbon scrapper but Im sure theres more options out there.... So really you have nothing to offer here... |

FN didn't put anything about lube points either in the civilian manual. Do I run it dry? And what lube should I use? At least FN put in info about lube point and what lube to use in the PS90 manual (MIL-PRF-63460 CLP) I dont own an FN but i would think a light coating of CLP on the outside of the bolt , maybe a little on the carrier rail slots and a little on the recoil spring/ rod would be all you need. Piston guns dont need any lube on the piston/chamber . None on the firing pin. I only put CLP in the bore and chamber when storing the firearm and clean them dry when i intend to go to the range. Hope this helps. |

Hope this helps. Just do a quick Google search and you'll find the .mil manual online...which covers all the lube points for various climates and conditions. I'd post it here, however in another thread(not mine), a bunch of folks got into some serious butt hurt about it being available online.

I find it iteresting I was told I need to change my attitude if I want to still be allowed to post in the FN forum. i understand you might have issues with the SCAR platform...is it perfect by no means, but I do feel alot of effort was put into this weapon. All someone posted was if there was anywhere to kit the tool kit...comment about SOFFE running shorts and "combat acetate and multicam quivers really needed. I sense you have some bitter feelings towards this weapon system and the people using it in combat.
Was there a video of a guy with that kit mounted on his chest, yes there was, but that is just showing how easy you can change the barrel, I dont think anyone expects someone to carry muti barrels on missions and change them during a firefight. The platform gives the warfighter the ability to change barrels based on the misson..if you are going after a HVT or doing a PSD mission or something low profile you may want to only run a 10 inch barrel and not a longer one..its based on the user and what they feel they need for the mission...Missions drive the gear. i am sure the SCAR will go through growing pains..if that was not the case we would still be humping around M16A1's Quoted:

Has anyone looked at the prices for the Seekonk? $110 for a 62 in-lb T-handle torque wrench that's not even adjustable? While it is handy for swapping barrels in the field, it is unnecessary for a workbench. You can buy a Craftsman or Snap-On adjustable torque wrench for a lot less, but even at the same price an adjustable with a bigger range is more versatile IMHO. Just buy a quality T25 torx bit socket and you're good to go. The most important tools from the kit would be (IMHO): Gas plug / gas port reamer/cleaners Gas piston removal tool Everything else doesn't seem as important or unique. It's just kind of cool to get the official USGI secret-squirrel SCAR tool kits, but from a practical POV I can use COTS tools just as well. |

I agree, although I have a dedicated rod to remove the piston, it is still a pain. I too would love to get the piston removal tool. It may be easy to make, but you need an example to copy, Per FN the Tool Kit is only available to Military Armorers direct from the Brussels factory. There are no plans to market the kit in the USA. They did speculate that an after market Mfg. may put a kit together and sell it here in the US. Brownell's has acknowledged the need for a SCAR kit and indicated that they will look into the market after the first of the year. |

Speaking of tools..... I bought one of the Sinclair " chamber guide things" Works like a charm.
Basically a tube that fits in the receiver with an o-ring and tapered chamber plug that you run your cleaning rod down. Very clean. FWIW...., Can someone please emilame a copy of the SCAR manual at [email protected] tHANKS |

I am hoping that this years SHOT show will have some nice upgrades and tools and such as the SCAR has become more mainstream and becomming more and more popular I'll be there on the first day of SHOT. I'll certainly be on the lookout for any SCAR related items. |

Just put a kit together on your own. Its not like the govt issus the best stuff anyways. On top of that why not just buy a nice adjustable torque wrench? Nobody does barrel changes in the field and how the heck are you going to do a barrel change anyhow when there are no barrels to change to.
