I know a lot of you folks have taken the stock factory brake off and replaced it with something of your own choice.  I'd like to join the club so I can stick a Vortex on there and feel better about running my Halo on the FS2000.  If'n you wouldn't mind:

- Who did you use?
- Did you shorten the barrel as well?
- Pinned or unpinned?
- Happy with what you did?  Do anything differently?

Not going to go SBR on this but I waffle on whether I care if the Vortex gets pinned on to get me to 16.1"; obviously, the barrel can go shorter overall but once those inches are chopped off the barrel, they are gone.  And after living through the AWB, pinned muzzle devices leave a sour taste in my mind.  The other thought I had is if I eventually switch to a QD can, going through having a smith redo it all over again is a pain compared to me just unscrewing one attachment and replacing it.  So I'm leaning towards the barrel being a hard 16.1" with threading there, little longer but more flexible.  Unless it needs pinned.

So, what'd you do?

hi-desert dog in nevada did my barrel, but they didnt open the gas port screw #144 which resulted in some short stroke issues. the quality was professional but was a little slower than advertised.
The Halo works great with an A-2 birdcage which is about 6.00

good luck
