Well I went to order a SOCOM, not one of my dealers suppliers had one. Not one in any color. So I got pissed off and ordered an FS2000, don't ask. That money was just burning a hole in my pocket. It should be hear the end of the week. Anyone running a 1x4 optic on theirs, or are most running aimpoints? I have always been an aimpoint guy myself, but was giving some thought to the later. We will see what I got myself into, I never should have shot one at the range.

I'm running a TA11 F on mine right now, although eventually I want a EOTech on it......I just want to get all of the guns on my "must have" list before I start tricking them out with optics and accessories.

I'm a little concerned with Obama being in the W.H.

Good purchase, I own lots of AKs and ARs and I think my FS2000 is my favorite rifle. I would like to buy another if I can fit it in my budget.

I was thinking the same thing when I ordered it. I know there is a feeding frenzy on guns right now. I could not believe it when my local dealer asked me to step behind the counter to see all the zeros, next to firearms, on his suppliers web pages. Had not thought of running ACOG, might be a good route to go. Thanks.

Get a doctor optic on top, and you have a 1x/4x optic.

Caliber differences aside, you'll probably be happy with your FS2000. I am. Read up on the quirks of the platform, since like everything else, they are there.

I run an EOTech 552 and a LaRue Po'Boy magnifier, so this gives me 1x or 2.5x (of good, as in clear) magnification, which works as well as one would expect. The one other FS I saw at matches had a Trijicon on it, and that owner seemed happy with his choice too, so I guess as long as it's good stuff, it'll work just fine.

Happy FS'ing! We want photos when it's together.

I have a Weaver Classic V3 1x3, I got as a gift, I will probably put that on the FS2000 for now. I may like the optic on the FS2000 and keep it on, or it gives me time to save some money to get something else. Is there a recommended mount for a variable optic or wat ring hight is suggested for the platform? Also wanted to pass on FN is running a $125 rebate on there rifles right now. I believe it is through Christmas.

Well I picked up my new FS2000. Really like the platform. Only problem I have is, there is a crack or cut in the polymer by the ejection port, right after the last cooling hole on the upper receiver.Dealer said bring it right back. Will bring it to him tomorrow. To say I am not happy, would be an under statement. We will see what happens. I dought it would affect function, but what the F––K its a $2000 firearm. I did end up ordering an Eotech for it, seemed like it would go well with this platform. I guess this will give more ammunition to those who dislike the FS2000. If they take care of it, I won't have to many complaints. I did have a Bushmaster that sheared the gas key bolts after 200 rounds, Bushmaster took care of me and I haven't had a problem in about 8000 rounds, that was not magazine related. I will let you all know how it turns out.

Well I have to say my local dealer and FN were great. It ended up being a small amount of polymer, left over from the mold, which looked like a crack.I have to tell you guys, it was the weirdest thing. It got scraped off and looks perfect.I will have to post some PICS of it, it looks like the frame is cracked.I cleaned the gun and got an Eotech, now I am ready to go. Will head to the range next week. + 1 for FN they were very receptive and were ready to do anything to fix the problem.

I'm seriously considering one. The factory optic any good?

Too be honest I have never handled one with the factory optic. I bought an Eotech for mine, but am also going to try my V3 on it .

It's "good" enough quality-wise and I think for the price it's good to go the minute your 4473 clears. "Good enough for you" is another question entirely. Check it out and if you like it, get it. If there's doubt, get the rail, and if cash is a problem, a $40 red dot until you can get something top drawer to mount on it.

I prefer the rail and put my own optics on it. More, yes, but also more options and more flexibility. People who borrowed it slapped all sorts of glass on there, which beats having the listen to them whine about how what's on there isn't what they like.

I just took the plunge and bought the one with the 1.6x optic the other day.  Up until that point, I had the standard green one as well.  I like the gun, overall...but as many people pointed out earlier...it's sometimes kind of difficult to take the price tag and try to justify it.  IMHO...it's worth maybe $1500. with the optic, $1400. without (and that might be a little high).

The triggers are not so great...but overall, I like the gun.  Full length barrel + bullpup + forward ejecting = a tight package that's left-hander friendly.  What more could I ask?  lol
