I need a couple M16 bolt carriers (not the bolts as I have 2 barrels barrels which came with fitted bolts).
Brownells has Red-X bolt carriers in 8620 Steel and Chrome lined at a good price.
Is Red-X OK? I am not familiar with them. Thanks

I have run some of the cheapest, most no-name bcg's there are.  Most of mine are not MPI tested, or any other apparent full auto mil spec qualifiers. That includes red x arms.  Never broken any, and I've shit out at least 4 barrels.

That must have been...painful.  Were the gas blocks in place at the time?

Lol! I have a knack for horrendously inappropriate typos.

But seriously, on topic, I have intentionally run some of the cheapest uppers on the planet as proof to friends and family they're all the same.  I'm seeing the same reliability between a $60 BCG and a $250 BCG in the absolute worst punishment.

I always run the best parts. I figure when im putting parts into a MG worth tens of thousands of dollars whats it matter if the BCG cost $100 or $200.

If you own a Ferrari you wouldnt put used tires on it or take it to walmart for a oil change to save a few bucks...
