A guy local to me that I know through work offered to sell me his Transferable M16. He stated it was not a Colt and was a conversion by Billistics Inc. but when I asked him which receiver it was done on he hasn't gotten back to me yet. It is also a Large Front PIvot Pin receiver. I was wondering what other companies or manufactures of AR15 receivers also did the large front pivot pins, anyone have any thoughts? I've seen a few low quality pictures of it, and the mag button relase side doesn't have the mag fence around it.
I basically offered him 12K before even seeing the pictures and only knowning it was a conversion done by Billistics Inc. He came back with he would take 14.5K |

The large-pin lower was specifically created by Colt so that the SP1 receiver could not accept an M16 upper. I can't recall if Colt patented the design, but I have never, ever heard of another manufacturer who made large-pin AR lowers.
My wild-a**ed guess is that the Form 4 for the MG correctly shows "Billistics" as the manufacturer, and it is engraved "Billistics" as well as Colt, and that what they present owner is trying to tell you is that it is NOT a factory Colt full-auto. Although I've seen them advertised lately with higher asking prices, IMHO $14.5k is full market value right now for what you can score an SP1 conversion RR for. |

$14,500 is full market value as tony stated, there is two currently on gunbroker at that price, and no buyers for either, they have been listed for weeks if not months. +2 If he throws in a boatload of uppers, mags, ammo and/or accessories, it's a pretty good deal in today's market. For bare rifle, it's top of the mark internet retail. |
