Has anybody ever tried using a Cavarms poly AR15 lower with a DIAS? I'm exploring the possibility of a full auto.45acp setup and was wondering if the Cavarms lowers could be used with an autosear. I know about the CNC AR45, Bazooka Brothers, and MGI lowers, but I don't know if the Cavarms poly lower would self destruct in full auto or not. I know they require the extra heavy buffer and they may need to be milled out to accept the sear, but has anybody ever tried it?

I've used a DIAS and a LL with an original Cavarms lower, and later with a gen 2. Some trimming of the internal plastic ribs was necessary to get a proper fit, but the shelf height was fine. One of my post-samples is a cavarms gen2 I've been running as a dedicated 9mm in full auto when I do MG shoots. It's probably got 5k + rounds in full auto over the past 7 years, and seems to be doing fine. |
