Has anybody ever tried using a Cavarms poly AR15 lower with a DIAS? I'm exploring the possibility of a full auto.45acp setup and was wondering if the Cavarms lowers could be used with an autosear. I know about the CNC AR45, Bazooka Brothers, and MGI lowers, but I don't know if the Cavarms poly lower would self destruct in full auto or not. I know they require the extra heavy buffer and they may need to be milled out to accept the sear, but has anybody ever tried it?

I've used a DIAS and a LL with an original Cavarms lower, and later with a gen 2.  Some trimming of the internal plastic ribs was necessary to get a proper fit, but the shelf height was fine.

One of my post-samples is a cavarms gen2 I've been running as a dedicated 9mm in full auto when I do MG shoots.  It's probably got 5k + rounds in full auto over the past 7 years, and seems to be doing fine.

Thanks very much for the info. When you say the internal plastic ribs needed trimming for the sear to fit, do you mean the sides, or the rear area behind the takedown pin?

The sides near the takedown pin, and the area immediately over and in front of the selector had to be trimmed back for the LL.  I did that first, so don't know if the same would have been required for the DIAS.
