Hello,
If I was able to get a M16 for the $12K+ it would cost, can I swap the upper? I really don't like the old m16 look & would prefer a 14.5" M4 type of upper. Can I also replace the stock? Can I change out parts as I see fit as long as the lower doesn't get modified? Would I need anything legally to do that?(besides the normal paperwork) Thanks |

You can make it look like this if you want. http://www.brassfetcher.com/images/tacticoolAR15.jpg WOW, that is amazing! Someone really went to a lot of trouble to create that "thing". It's even better than a lot of the Photoshopped ...ahem... "creations" I've seen. |

...with a few notable exceptions. Any sound suppression must be taxed on it's own. It must not be configured to fit the definition of a destructive device. Any upper which is considered a firearm in and of itself (there is one in production) may not be used on it.
Machine gun status trumps all - you may configure it as you like. |

It's not my logic. It's the ATFE's logic.
