| My dad has a bushmaster AR15. Is there a permit or anyway to legally get M16 parts and make it fire triburst? |

Short answer: You would have to pay about $8K for a sear, then pay $200 tax stamp, and wait 6 months to do this legally. m4whore PLEASE show me were to find a registered sear for only $8K!!!! I think the $8k number is a bit off... And they are very hard to find. Here is a RDIAS for sale though... http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.cgi?db=nfafirearms&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=15978&query=retrieval HTH! |

No way to convert that lower into a tri-burst or full auto. You would have to purchase a registered drop in auto sear (RDIAS). The rdias is considered a machine gun in itself so you could instal it in your lower and get a burst kit then if you like. Rdias prices go from 12-15k and anything less would be a steal. Then you have to pay a $200 transfer tax to take possesion of the rdias and instal it in your lower with the proper fcg.
ATF considers tri-burst or anything that fires more than one round with a single pull of the trigger a full auto and they became banned in May of 1986. What ever was registered before the cut off date is all we get to legally own and that's why the prices are insane. M4whore if you haven any leads to a RDIAS for 8k my check book is ready and hell I'll even give you a grand for finding me a sweet deal.;) |
