Has anyone tried using a 5.45 upper on their RR/RLL/dias with any success?

I've tried two different 5.45x39 uppers, a S&W and one I built with an Alexander Arms barrel and a bolt from Olympic, on my RR M16. Both run great with C-product mags. I use the extra heavy hammer spring that came with the S&W upper and cheap Bulgarian surplus ammo.

My S&W runs great too! I just shortened it to 10.5 and it runs like a top with my RDIAS, but you have to use the heavy hammer spring.

Is the heavy duty hammer spring being used with a RR two stage target trigger, if so how did it affect the trigger pull?

I've been using that combo for a while, trigger pull is slightly heavier but not terrible.

I've been running them for a couple years now.  I initially used a modified AR-47 lower....actually just modified the mag catch.  Then later used the MGI AK74 magwell when it came out.
This is a custom setup using the AR47 lower. 11.5" Bulgarian chrome lined barrel headspaced to M16 barrel extension:

Here is an 8" setup.  Again using a Bulgarian chrome lined barrel headspaced to a M16 barrel extension:
