I am hopefully buying a M16 in the very near future. I want an auto marked gun. Should I go with a A1 or an A2?
Thanks

if you want a pony, and have the extra money to blow, go for the A2

If money isn't an issue, I'd get the A2 for sure. If you are going to go big, why not go all the way?

After you buy a Colt M16A2 with Auto markings let us know how much it was
A Colt M16A1 with Auto marking was all I could afford

Both of my Colt M16's are A2 in both marks and features. And they are auto not burst marked.
If you decide A2, make sure they have the A2 lower features, not just the A2 mark.
Never regretted paying (at the time) a small premium for A2s.

How can you tell if it has the a2 upgrades?

A1
A2
The differences are near the front and rear take down pins. Also, the A2 will have safe semi burst/auto markings on the right side.
