Im not sure the answer I have been through google and this site.  the guy im in training with has a pawn shop and sells alot of guns and he was saying the other day about if you put an m16 trigger  with the disconnector, hammer and selector switch in an ar15 that is would be full auto? Ive been debating him and when trying to search I didnt find anything but did manage to find  a drop in auto sear and also a lightning link im not to knowledgable about full autos but have been trying to learn about them moreand help recognizing these parts if I ever encountered them on the street any input would be great

He forgot the autosear.  It a part that rotates on an axis pin in the evil "third hole"  right above the selector and holds the hammer back.  The tail of the bolt carrier trips it as the bolt goes fully into battery and allows the hammer to fall (the M16 disconnector is held out of the way because of the tail so the hammer falls).  Firing a rifle without the autosear and M16 parts is likely to be sporadic or not operate at all, as well as theoretically being dangerous enough to cause an out of battery detonation.  Its also a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Essentially, he is somewhat right.  The rifle MIGHT fire more than one round, but its a condition known as hammer follow.  It is unregulated and unpredictable in terms of function and safety.

Now for my disclaimer.  Attempting to use M16 trigger parts in an AR15 without a registered drop in auto sear is illegal without the proper blessings from the ATF and Pope.

This link shows the differences.
It doesnt matter if it makes the AR-15 full auto or not. If you install those M16 parts into an AR-15 you will be creating an illegal MG

Sorry, he is right.

Installing those parts that you list in an AR15 is illegal.

The link that AN94NK listed will show you what they look like, in case you ever encounter them on the street.
