I have two SBRs on order. I have seen , somewhere, that in order to be legal one must engrave the name of the owner on the lower. I am  registering mine to a trust. Can  someone confirm this to me and if possible cite me to a  source. Also can you recommend someone to do the engraving if that is the case. I remember the name Anvil but their website is down or out. Thanks

Are you buying complete guns?

The engraving requirement is for when people make a SBR. Then you as the maker would have to engrave your info(or your trust info)

If you're buying complete SBR's and they're transferring to you on a Form 4, then you don't need to do anything. If you filed a Form 1 to manufacture an SBR, then you need to engrave the name of the manufacturer (your trust) on the receiver or barrel.

Anyone, or any legal entity, which makes an NFA item like an SBR must engrave it. So if you use a Form 1 to make it, whether you do it as an individual, a corporation, an LLC or a trust, you must engrave it.

If you buy an existing registered NFA item, like an SBR, via a Form 4 transfer, you are simply an owner, not a maker. So you do not by law need to engrave anything.
