The submachinegun in the picture is a M50 or otherwise more commonly known as a "Madsen" submachinegun.
These are Danish submachineguns and generally run about $7000ish for a civilian "Tranferable" sample and roughly half that for a "Pre-86" Dealer Sample. They are a very simple stamped sheet metal submachinegun from the early 1940s with a unique clamshell design where the two halves swing open and a trademark long square receiver design. (vs. a tube shape on most submachinguns of the era) Hope this helps James Austin, Texas |

Old_Painless, how did you like the Madsen? Mike I loved it! What would you think? I was grinning like a mule eating briers when I handed it back to him and told him, "It is impossible not to grin when you shoot one of those." He agreed. was the ROF comfortable? |

I was at the range last week, and met a nice fellow that is a Class 3 Dealer. He let me run a mag through one of his submachine guns. Here it is: http://media.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=14276 He told me what model it was, but I can't remember. I bet some of you guys can recognize it for me. Many thanks. Madsen (I didn't read ahead) EDIT: one of a butt-load of WWII and immediately after second generation subguns. I think it was used in the first Scarface during the christening killing montage |

was the ROF comfortable? Yes, it was easy to control, especially with short bursts. I believe he said something like 650 rpm. i thought i remember reading they were 500-ish... either way, i was just curious. i personally tend to find slower guns to be more difficult to shoot. they feel "choppy" to me. anyhow O_P, when are you getting one?

Hey, I asked because I didn't know the answer! Nearly bought a pre-86 DS one for $1,900 earlier this year but money was tight. How do you like it compared to, say, a full-size Uzi? Mike |

Mike I've shot an Uzi, and would prefer the Madsen. |
