I have been looking at doing a SBR build(mostly in 223) and I am now Leaning towards a 9mil upper. Im split between getting just a upper or full rifle. I know i want a 10.5 inch barrel its now a question of what brand? I have heard good things about colt,RRA,DPMS. Comments,Pictures, opinions wanted but please leave the heated stuff some where else.
I will also be getting a can for it so pics with them also appreciated. As far as Brand of suppressor still up in the air. Thanks! |

I run a 5.5 tros on my M16, with 147 gr subs and my AWC Can its sickly quite. 10 inch guns are fun in 9mm and very controlable but 9mm and .22 are able to go much shorter then 223 due to the blow back action, for this reason I shoot 7.5 and 10.5 .223 uppers and my .22 and 9mms are in the 3-5 inch range. the point of a SBR is to go short, what ever you do dont waste your money on a14.5 |

The guys at TROS are true craftsmen. You couldn't go wrong w/a Spikes, either. |
| The 9mm is a handgun cartridge, so 5" to 7" is normal for velocity. And remember, with a suppressor, you don't want too much velocity, because you don't want the round to go supersonic or it won't suppress well. Accuracy has nothing to do with barrel length. A good 5" barrel will be more accurate than you are. If you're asking about .223, I wouldn't go shorter than 10.5" for reliability reasons. I have a 7" upper that runs, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. |

So not alot of difference between a 5 and 7 then. Might as well go with a 5 and get a smaller setup. Excuse my ignorance but what brand or setup is TROS? i see the pics and i like. http://www.trosusa.com/ Very highly recommended. Mark McWillis is extremely talented and a man of the highest honor to boot. |

Thanks T. Any benefit between the TROS 3lug or just thread on for a suppressor? from what i understand the 3lug is just for a QD mount. I guess if i ever got a 9mm pistol worth putting a can on that would be the way to go. My wife will love that for an excuse for another can.... |

1 reason I will always recommend TROS is because of Marks personality, it is a highly respected man with alot of talent that will take the time to talk to you over the phone, many people in is his postion dont have the time to do that. He honestly cares about what is customers want and think, that is why I continue to buy his stuff. That and its really really good. If you plan to shot subs threw a can then the 5 or 7 inch is a better choise then a 10. |
